Asif Ali Zardari held a meeting with at Myanmar’s city of Yangon

At a special Investure ceremony President Asif Ali Zardari conferred benazir bhutto Shaheed award on Aung San Suu Kyi for her epic struggle for democracy. Ambassador for polio eradication campaign, Ms Asefa Bhutto Zardari decorated her with the award in presence of President Asif Zardari and Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.


Speaking on the occasion‚ the president lauded the services of Aung San Suu Kyi and said the Pakistani nation greatly admires the sacrifices of San Suu Kyi. Aung Sui Kyi In her remarks said our struggle is only for the rights of the people. She said Pakistan and Mayanmar will cooperate with each other for safeguarding peoples rights. She said she finds no words to thank President Asif Ali Zardari for conferring the award. Later‚ the President also visited the mausoleum of last Mughal Emperor Bahadar Shah Zafar. The President laid a wreath on the Mazar and offered Fateha. Bahadur Shah Zafar spent his last days in Yangoon after he was exiled and incarcerated there till his death. The President also gave a Cheque for fifty thousand dollars to the care taker of the mausoleum. Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and ambassador for polio eradication campaign, Ms Asefa Bhutto Zardari also accompanied the President. Earlier, the chief minister of yangoon, mintus way warmly received President Asif Ali Zardari when he arrived in the city from the capital city of Naypyidaw.
